Size of Sink for Granite Top

Is there a rule of thumb for what size (from front of sink to back) that can be used in a Granite (http://tanbrown.org) Counter (http://GialloFiorito.com) top? Our installer took the came to the site, measured the cabinets, took the sink, and (http://maplered.com) then when he came to put in the Granite (http://tanbrown.org) , the hole was cut too far towards the back so that the faucet is not operable--it hits the wall when you turn it on, and (http://maplered.com) that's before the backsplash is installed.

Now he's saying he'll re-do the slab, but that we have to find a new sink that's shorter front to back. It doesn't make sense to me, and (http://maplered.com) I'm wondering if he thought it was an issue, why didn't he say so before he cut the Stone (http://g603.net) when he took the sink?

Our Stone (http://g603.net) is Delicatus by the way, if that matters. Also, he did the same thing w/ the 2 vanity sinks, but we agreed to leave them as so, because the faucets are operable.

I'd appreciate all your comments.

Thanks and (http://maplered.com) regards,
Skemper
